The Cloquet River Run is a fundraising activity that promotes healthy lifestyles in our children and community. Beginning in 2007, people of all ages have participated in the 1 mile or 5K run/walk. Many people also come out to volunteer and cheer! Both races start and end at the Churchill Elementary School Playground. The “little kids race” gives children up to age 6 the opportunity to participate on a short sprint on the playground field. The vision of this event has expanded and evolved into a very popular family-friendly yet challenging opportunity for health and fitness. It is a fun community event and includes a wonderful spaghetti feed at packet pick-up the night before. Kids are very involved from designing the artwork for the race shirts to providing entertainment at the pasta feed. They also participate in a practice 1 mile run/walk a few weeks before the event at school!
Race proceeds will go toward health-related equipment and programs and technology purchases for Churchill Elementary School. Due to our increasing numbers and many incredibly generous sponsors we have been able to help fund these Churchill projects, many of which are on-going:
2017 RUNNING BUDDIES! Students 12 and under may register for a running partner from the high school cross country team who will run at the student's comfortable pace with them, encourage them and finish with them.
Come and get involved in the Cloquet River Run! Be a participant, a volunteer, a sponsor, or a spectator! Find out for yourself!
